The best time of day to train depends on your goals, schedule, and body’s natural rhythm.
As an instructor, very often, we can’t choose when to train. I personally prefer to train early evening, around 6pm.

Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons of different times:
🔅 Morning (6 AM – 10 AM)
Pros:
- Boosts metabolism and sets a productive tone for the day.
- Fewer distractions — more consistency.
- May improve fat burning (especially in fasted workouts).
- Better adherence over time.
Cons:
- Body temperature and strength levels are lower early in the day.
- Takes longer to warm up.
- Not ideal for heavy lifting or high-intensity work for everyone.
☀️ Afternoon (12 PM – 4 PM)
Pros:
- Peak muscle strength and power due to increased body temperature.
- Hormones like testosterone are elevated (helpful for building muscle).
- Better performance in resistance and endurance training.
Cons:
- Can be harder to fit into a work or school day.
🌇 Evening (5 PM – 8 PM)
Pros:
- Body is fully awake — strength, flexibility, and endurance are at their best.
- Can be a great stress reliever after work.
- Higher performance metrics (strength, stamina).
Cons:
- Gyms may be crowded.
- Can interfere with sleep if done too late or too intensely.
🧠 Bottom Line:
The best time is the one you can stick to consistently and that supports your specific goals:
| Goal | Ideal Time |
| Fat loss | Morning (fasted optional) |
| Strength/Power | Afternoon/Evening |
| Stress relief | Evening |
| Consistency | Whatever fits your lifestyle best |
I hope this short article helps you choose when to train.
And don’t forget: Never give up on your dreams!
